Terms of Service

WMNride is a platform to promote and support women’s cycling experiences, products and services. We host rides and events to connect female cyclists and facilitate a safe and supportive riding experience.

While some rides and events are free, a registration fee is required for others. WMNride members enjoy a variety of benefits – including ride registration and some webshop purchases. Rides can be joined by registering via the ride calendar (www.wmnride.com/rides).

By joining a WMNride event or ride, you agree and accept our terms of service:

1. Access
   Only registered riders can join rides. When capacity for a ride is limited, we give access to the rides on a first come, first served basis. We strictly follow regulations according to group size and the number of ride leaders or support vehicles as legally required. Read our COVID-19 Policy
   
2. Registration
   By signing up for a ride, you agree to share your contact details with WMNride (email and phone number) to receive further details (e.g. gpx files, specific instructions). You will additionally have the option to join a WhatsApp group for the ride of your choice to stay in touch with fellow riders and receive real-time information. Your contact details will not be shared with any third parties without your permission.
   
3. Newsletter
   By creating a WMNride account via the website you are automatically added to the newsletter mailing list. The number of WMNride newsletters is limited and you can unsubscribe at any time. Creating an account is required to register for rides/events or to purchase webshop items. 
   
4. Insurance
   Each rider is responsible to purchase a complete cycling insurance to cover medical costs and personal liability (damage caused to third parties). We advise riders to purchase a Cycling Vlaanderen recreational license to have year-round coverage and road assistance. By selecting WMNride as a club, you will additionally benefit from a discount on your annual insurance policy.
   
5. Ride leaders
   Our ride leaders work as volunteers to facilitate your riding experience and cannot be held liable or responsible for any accident or inconvenience during the ride. If you experience any problems with a ride leader, you are invited to report this discretely and directly to the WMNride management by sending an email to info@wmnride.com. Our priority is to ensure a safe and comfortable experience during each ride or event. In the event of any issue or inconvenience, we will do everything we can to resolve it in a timely manner.
   
6. Cancellations
   The ride leader can decide to cancel a ride up to one hour before departure. If a ride with registration fee is cancelled, your registration fee will be returned through a ride voucher to use for another ride/event of your choice. Reasons to cancel a ride last-minute can include: bad weather, unsafe conditions or illness of a ride leader. Ride cancellations will be posted in the WhatsApp group of the respective ride.
   
7. Promotional codes and vouchers
   Promotional codes obtained by WMNride members are strictly for personal use and cannot be shared or used by other members or non-members. All data about orders and the use of promotional codes is tracked and stored by WMNride and the relevant partners. Should we be notified of any promotional code misuse by a non-member, the member to whom the code belongs to will receive an invoice to pay the full fee for the product/service requested.
   
8. Health
   To participate in a ride, you declare that you are in healthy physical condition. If you have any health concerns or doubts about your ability to participate in a ride or event, WMNride advises to consult a doctor before joining a ride. If you have any health issues, please inform the ride leader before the start of the ride. Should there be reason for concern, the ride leader reserves the right to decide whether you may join the event/ride or not. 
   
9. Photos and video
   Photos and videos made during WMNride social rides and events may be used for promotional purposes. WMNride will not publish information about a person in a social media story or promotional campaign without asking for explicit permission to do so. We do everything with the utmost care to respect participants’ identity, self-esteem and privacy. If despite our best efforts, WMNride fails to respect participant preferences, a request can be made to remove them.
   WMNride cannot be held responsible for the publication of photos and videos done by other WMNride members. Should you prefer not to have your photo/video taken, we strongly advise you to inform the photographer/videographer of your preferences. All WMNride members are requested to respect the preferences and privacy rights of other members.
   
10. Respect
    WMNride members and participants must respect each other at all times. We have a zero-tolerance for prejudice, discrimination and harassment. Any incidents will be dealt with swiftly and thoroughly.
    
11. Inclusivity
    Our rides are inclusive of all. We aim to provide a safe and accessible environment for women to ride a bike, making everyone feel safe and comfortable regardless of experience, body size or gender identity; non-binary people are welcome.
    
12. Privacy and GDPR
    Personal data is stored securely within the WMNride database. Data will not be shared with third parties, unless this is requested to activate a service you may want to use as part of your membership package. Read the full privacy policy.

WMNride cannot be held responsible for any problems occurring during the ride.
